Triad High School takes their game to new heights with new Nevco Video Display

Newest addition to gymnasium offers over 737,000 pixels of immersive action

 

EDWARDSVILLE, IL, March 20, 2024 – A new kind of game-day experience is in full effect at Triad High School in Troy, IL.

When the lights come on inside Rich Mason Gymnasium, a new full-color 3.9mm LED Video Display spanning 8.46’H by 14.74’W is also lighting up the court for the Knights. The venue was named after the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Famer who holds the all-time wins record at Triad with 346 leading the boys’ basketball team. Mason spent 40 years in various roles with the district and the school he served, located just northeast of Saint Louis, partnered with Nevco Sports, LLC to deliver an engaging game-day environment from the pregame festivities to the final whistle.

“Working with Nevco on this project has been a tremendous experience. Not only have they delivered the product on time, their staff has continued to work with us here at THS to make sure we have all available information to use our new digital board at its capacity,” said Triad High School Director of Athletics Kenneth Deatherage. “Our new digital board has become the centerpiece of Rich Mason Gymnasium and will continue to enhance the experience at all of our THS events for our athletes, students, and community.”

Whether Triad’s basketball and volleyball programs are battling on the court, the wrestling team is clashing on the mat, or any other school event is taking place, the school has the unlimited capability to create an unparalleled experience for all. The sharp resolution of the display delivers crystal-clear picture from its end of the gym and generates momentum with highlights, introductions, interactive graphics and fan prompts and more through Nevco Creative Services in addition to showcasing virtual scoring, live action, and key information and achievements. Triad also has endless inventory to feature sponsors and foster revenue growth.

Flanking each side of the video scoring solution is signage prominently showing “Knights” and topping off the video display is a Decorative Arch Truss with Truss Letters featuring “Triad High School” and the school logo to further add to the community’s pride in their school. The upgrades to the facility were completed with a set of SSC-7 Shot Clocks and End of Period Lights.

The newest additions to the gymnasium at the high school complements the existing Nevco scoring equipment that is still operational after the grand opening in 1999 when the school relocated from nearby St. Jacob. After 24 years and counting, the longevity of the center-hung, Model 2550-D Four-Face Scoreboard and pair of Model 2650 Scoreboards allowed the Knights to upgrade without having to start from scratch or incur any additional costs.
