GREENVILLE, IL, March 8, 2016– OFSAA, the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations, and Nevco Sales Consultant in the Ontario region, The Scoreboard Man, have teamed up to provide safe and reliable options for purchase and installation of basketball shot clocks.
“We’re excited for this partnership and the opportunity to work closely with the OFSAA. We believe student-athletes who acclimate to collegiate rules earlier in their athletic career have a better chance at being successful at the higher level. We’re happy to be a part of OFSAA’s commitment to building champions,” says The Scoreboard Man himself, Paul Leskew, the Nevco sales consultant for the Ontario region.
In 2015, OFSAA’s representative council elected to transition Ontario High School basketball to the International FIBA system. With this transition, a significant change was incorporated: the mandatory 35-second shot clock.
OFSAA conducted extensive research on feasibility, installation, maintenance, mass availability and electrical safety before selecting Nevco as their official shot clock. OFSAA and The Scoreboard Man are working together to provide Nevco shot clocks for A, AA, and AAA divisions Girls and Boys tournaments. Schools that wish to simulate OFSAA conditions during league play can elect to purchase shot clocks of their own.
