J.I. Case High School Builds Scoreboard on Food
Keeping up with the game while heading to the concession line is no longer a struggle.
EDWARDSVILLE, IL, August 28, 2024 – You read it right – J.I. Case High School in Racine, WI, built their new Nevco video scoring solution on top of a concession stand (yes, that is possible). The unique installation is one of many upgrades brought to Hammes Field as part of their facility improvement project.
The newly unveiled Nevco Full Color 16mm LED Video Display (13.05’H x 25.2’W) with 115,200 pixels features advanced LED technology and a high-definition display, designed to deliver unmatched visibility and clarity, while offering dynamic features such as instant replays, and captivating multimedia content to engage fans and promote sponsors. The Stadium Pro 1500 sound system that rests above the display flanked by trusses and truss letters displaying HAMMES FIELD, ensures the Eagles and their fans will hear every play and announcement loud and clear throughout the stadium. A custom strip scoreboard is placed below the display featuring electronic team names, which enables the Eagles to customize names for each football team that plays at the facility.
“At Nevco, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sports and scoreboard technology,” said Tyler Klostermann, Regional Sports Video Consultant at Nevco. “Our recent installation at J.I. Case High School reflects our mission to support educational and athletic programs with top-tier equipment. We are confident that the new video board and sound system will enhance the game-day experience for both teams and fans.”
In addition to the new scoring & display upgrades, the reconstruction of the Hammes Field included new concession stands and bathrooms built into the structure that holds the display, which also serves as an entrance to the stadium. A new turf field and bleachers rounded out the renovation project.
“I would definitely recommend other schools going with a Nevco board,” said Joseph Arbinger, J.I. Case’s Athletic Director. “The quality is wonderful, the system is easy to use, and the support and response time paired with the people that we’ve worked with at Nevco have all been absolutely tremendous.”
This project would not have been possible without the generous support of Racine local and donor, Jon Hammes, who made the donation in honor of his late father, Don Hammes. On July 8th of this past year, the ribbon was cut to unveil the new Hammes Field to the community.
The installation at J.I. Case High School represents Nevco’s commitment to providing innovative sports technology and innovative solutions to schools and sports venues, enhancing the overall game-day experience for students, athletes, and fans. Eagles’ fans were welcomed into the brand new Hammes Field and a transformed game-day experience at the first home game of the 2024 season.
