Crookston Baseball Assoctiation Buys Nevco
CROOKSTON, MN – Today, the Crookston Baseball Association (CBA) installed a new 36-ft baseball scoreboard from Nevco at Jim Karn Field. CBA needed a large Inning-by-Inning scoreboard along with sponsorship opportunities to replace the old existing scoreboard. CBA chose Nevco based on the experience that one of the CBA members had while working with Nevco on the baseball program at Pine City High School.
CBA was using a very old manual scoreboard that was falling apart. Nevco’s solution was a large 36-ft Inning-by-Inning scoreboard with a custom arch sign on top and sponsor signage below. The Model 1503-ETN also includes programmable electronic team names (ETNs) that can be changed to display the actual names of the teams playing, instead of just “Home” and “Guests”.
Jim Karn Field in Crookston was rededicated, with the new scoreboard, in time for the Jim Karn Memorial Tournament last weekend. Karn was a long-time coach and baseball figure in Crookston and is a member of the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. He lost his battle with cancer a few years ago.
