Greenville, IL, April 26, 2018- The athletic programs at Fort Hays State University (FHSU), in Hays, Kansas welcome exciting scoring equipment upgrades from Nevco Sports LLC to their football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field facilities!

The Gross Memorial Coliseum now features a new focal point with the addition of a Nevco four-side video scoring solution. The center-hung display is comprised of (4) 6mm full color LED Video Displays, each measuring nearly 7’H x 12’W. Prominently hanging below the main display is a 10mm full color LED Video Ring with a custom imprinted bottom, showcasing FHSU’s mascot. The entire solution is comprised of over 835,000 mesmerizing pixels to engage Tiger fans like never before on game days.

In addition to the new video displays at gross Memorial Coliseum, home to to FHSU’s men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams, also featured are (2) model 2781 Intelligent Caption™ scoreboards, which allow the Tigers to electronically customize their home and guest team names, and scoring modes, for each team that plays at the facility. Rounding out the upgrades is a set of SSC-T5 Shot Clocks, End of Period Lights, and Locker Room Clocks.

“We’re happy to be working with FHSU to bring an exciting experience to fans of Tiger Athletics,” says Nevco’s National Sports Video Sales Executive, Wes Wood. “The enhancements to these facilities will ensure the FHSU community that they are getting the best game-day atmosphere possible.”

The next FHSU facility upgrade is at Lewis Field Stadium, home turf for the Tigers’ football team. The massive 16mm full color Video Display stretches more than 40′ wide, and projects over 280,000 pixels. The display is accented with a custom timer, sponsorship signage, and a decorative arch truss displaying the school name and colors. Flanking each side of the video board is a custom split scoreboard, equipped with Electronic Team names and custom golden striping.

Further enhancing the football display is the addition of Nevco’s Stadium Pro™ 2000 Sounds System, which is custom built for the athletics market to bring concert quality sound to every seat in the stadium. The sound system is placed discreetly below the decorative truss, and features a personalized front mesh scrim, which displays ‘BICKLE-SCHMIDT VIDEO BOARD’ in honor of the school donors who made the video display possible. The entire solution measures at an impressive 36′ tall and 63′ wide making it an impactful upgrade for FHSU football.

Both displays will be controlled through the use of MotionRocket Sports Video Control System Software that simplifies game-day operations, and allows the Tigers to display live in-game action, up-to-the-minute key player/game statistics, fan prompts, and endless sponsorship graphics.

“Nevco provided us with exceptional quality and service since day one of these projects, and we couldn’t be more grateful,” says Curtis Hammeke, Director of Athletics at FHSU. “The new enhancements to our athletic facilities exceed our expectations and the scoring solutions are sure to bring excitement to every spectator in the stands.”

The Track and Field facility also received upgrades, as FHSU installed a monochrome LED Message Center, complete with FinishLynx Track Timing, which allows the Tigers to capture and display time-stamped race results accurate to 1/1000th of a second. Accompanying the message center is a custom timer, prominently between two Tiger logos.

The Tiger’s three new displays were installed between late summer of 2017 and early 2018.
