Nevco LED Video Display becomes part of exciting game-day atmosphere at Effingham High School
New scoring solution highlights renovations at the new Klosterman Field at Washington Savings Bank Stadium
EDWARDSVILLE, IL, September 29, 2022 – Hearts fans were welcomed into a transformed game-day experience at Washington Savings Bank Stadium at the first home football game of the season for Effingham High School.
Not only did the Hearts step onto a new turf field on game-day, but a new Nevco full-color 16mm LED Video Display greeted them ready to capture all the action of the night’s matchup against the St. Teresa Bulldogs. The new display, measuring 16.19’H by 25.2’W, will make EHS a premier destination for school and athletic events, as it stands as one of the largest high school displays in the state of Illinois.
The new video scoring solution empowers Effingham to create an experience in its own vision when fans visit Klosterman Field at Washington Savings Bank Stadium. In addition to capturing all the eye-catching highlights on the display, the school has already begun creating their own unique prompts and upcoming event graphics to deliver enthusiasm and school spirit, as well as sponsorship spots to provide additional revenue for the school. Overall, the new visuals will enhance and compliment the game-day experience for years to come.
“Collaboration is the key to success in Effingham CUSD #40 and community,” said Andrew Johnson, Superintendent of Effingham Community Unit School District #40. “Our partnership with the community and Nevco to provide the best of the best for students and athletes for years to come with the latest addition of the Nevco video, scoring, and audio system and turf field are living proof of this teamwork.”
The display sits prominently atop a custom strip intelligent caption™ scoreboard, allowing the school to conveniently change the captions to match the sport being played with the simple press of a button. It also features electronic team names that allow the Hearts to customize the names of every team that plays at the facility for a personalized touch. Topping off the display is a Stadium Pro 1000™ Sound System with custom imprinted front mesh scrim proudly displaying “Effingham High School” to ensure every play-by-play and announcement is delivered loud and clear over crowd noise to all players, coaches and spectators.
Effingham has plans to utilize its new display solution for more than just football season. The school will showcase its capabilities during the annual Effingham Marching Hearts Invitational in October when they host schools from across the state. When track and field season approaches in the Spring, the new scoring display will elevate meets with its integration with FinishLynx (A Nevco Sports Company) advanced track timing, which allows the school to display photo-finish race results instantaneously that are time-stamped and accurate to 1/1000th of a second.
“It’s been a pleasure to continue our partnership with Effingham to deliver a solution that will have a positive impact for so many in the community,” says Eric Light, Nevco’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We take great pride in being there for our partners at every stage of the process and it was a privilege to join the Hearts on the first night of football season to experience everyone’s excitement towards the new upgrades.”
