LOGAN HIGH SCHOOL MAXIMIZES ITS IMPACT WITH NEVCO VIDEO DISPLAY AND SCORING SOLUTION
GREENVILLE, IL, July 15, 2019 – Logan High School in Logan, Ohio teamed up with Nevco to maximize their impact and deliver a brand new Video Display, Scoring and Audio Solution at Logan Chieftain Stadium.
The 5,800+ seat stadium built in 2008 plays host to Logan High School’s football, soccer, and track and field teams, in addition to hosting multiple Ohio High School Athletic Association post-season events. Standing tall behind the end zone at the north end of Logan Chieftain Stadium is the Chieftain’s new Nevco Video Display, Audio, and Scoring Solution. The Nevco 16mm full color, LED Video Display reaches over 11’W and nearly 19’H, and is flanked on both sides by a Custom Split LED Scoreboard with a Custom Timer seated above. The video display features unmatched image clarity with over 75,000 pixels, commanding the attention of every fan from any viewing angle inside the stadium.
Logan High School’s game-day operations will be made simple by utilizing Nevco’s proprietary Display Director™ Software to control the video display, giving the Chieftains the ability to showcase sponsorship messages, vibrant animated graphics, thrilling live game action, instant replays, and more.
Nevco’s HYPE Creative Services worked together with Logan High School to create a multitude of custom branded graphics and fan prompts to show on the video display including logo animations, games, and headshot templates to amp up and engage the crowd during contests.
Above the video display are non-illuminated signs with space to prominently display sponsors. Seated at the top of the structure, the Stadium Pro™ 2000 Sound System sits between a split decorative arch truss, hidden discreetly behind the sound scrim emblazoned with LOGAN and the Chieftain’s logo. The sound system provides crisp, concert-esque audio quality which can be heard clearly from any seat inside Logan Chieftain Stadium.
“The video board, sound system, and customer support we’ve received from Nevco have all been top notch. We’re very pleased and looking forward to years of use from our Nevco system,” said Logan-Hocking School District Technology Coordinator, Josh Straus. “Our plan is to integrate the board into our curriculum through our LHS broadcasting class, so we can create real-life job experiences for our students. Some of the student positions we’re planning to incorporate into the program are: Broadcast Engineer, Designer, Animator, Production Manager/Assistant, Technical Director, Producers, Graphics Producer, Camera Operators, and more!”
In the short time since the installation of the video display, Logan High School has had an influx of community events knocking at its doors. Chieftain Stadium and the display have been utilized for “walk-in” movie nights for students, graduation ceremonies with live feed of the graduates receiving their diplomas, and a Memorial Day service featuring a student made tribute video to thank veterans.
“We are extremely thankful to be able to partner with such a fantastic school and provide them with a scoring and audio solution that will not only benefit the students, both in and out of the classroom, but also the entire surrounding community,” said Pat O’Brien, Nevco Senior Manager for Large Venue Marketing & Business Development.
Logan High School will debut the new Video Display, Scoring and Audio Solution on the gridiron on September 6, for a contest against Sissonville High School. Check out the live install photo below, and be sure to read more about other recent Nevco projects at nevco.com.
