Carson-Newman University Enhances Roy Harmon Field with New Video Upgrade, Continuing Strong Partnership with Nevco
Brand new display and scoring solutions to improve game-day experience.
EDWARDSVILLE, IL, September 11, 2024 – Carson-Newman University (Jefferson City, TN), is excited to reveal the latest addition to Burke-Tarr Stadium, featuring a state-of-the-art Nevco video display and scoring solution.
This upgrade marks a significant milestone in the ongoing relationship between Carson-Newman and Nevco.
Carson-Newman’s new full color LED video display is a 16mm resolution and stretches 19.35’H and spans 37.8’W. Upgrading the Roy Harmon Field with a custom Intelligent Caption strip scoreboard was just what they needed. The signage flanked by decorative trusses adds a personalized touch to this display. The Eagles utilized the existing structure from their previous equipment for their new investment.

Carson-Newman’s athletic history is marked by a rich tradition of excellence. The C-N football team has claimed a SAC-best 21 regular season championships and consistently demonstrated an elevated level of competition with five national titles. This latest enhancement to the football program’s infrastructure will strengthen their motivation towards success for this coming season.

The new Nevco video solution replaces the Nevco equipment installed 10 years ago, which included a 20mm Video Display that rested above their existing (at the time) 7620 scoreboard. Since then, the partnership between Carson-Newman and Nevco has flourished, leading them to team up for upgrades to the Eagles’ basketball, baseball, and soccer facilities.
The installation of the new system is expected to be completed by the start of the football season, ready to welcome fans for an unforgettable game day experience.
