THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT PINE BLUFF PARTNERS WITH NEVCO TO DELIVER NEW GAME-DAY EXPERIENCE

GREENVILLE, IL, September 17, 2018 – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) fans eagerly anticipated the grand opening of Simmons Bank Field, which features a state-of-the-art Nevco Video Display and Scoring Solution to deliver fans an unforgettable game-day experience.

Standing above the bleachers behind the north end zone of Simmons Bank Field is an enormous Full Color, 16mm LED Video Display, measuring over 20’ H and 59’ W. The eye-catching board displays a dazzling 444,600 pixels which provide unmatched image clarity and contrast at every viewing angle in the stadium. The video display possesses multiple abilities to ease game-day operations including variable content zoning, which allows for one large image to be shown on the entire screen, or for multiple zones of the display to show any combination of live in-game video.  Hidden away from the fan’s eye, the video display comes complete with Nevco’s proprietary Display Director™ Software, which allows UAPB’s game-day operations to be easily managed through one, universal, touchscreen operating system.

“We have been very pleased with our partnership with Nevco throughout this entire process. We’re excited to have a top-of-the-line, fully digital video display that will create a remarkable fan experience during games, and ultimately benefit our University as a whole,” said Robert Wall, UAPB Director of Facilities Management.

A decorative open air Arch Truss with rear-lit letters spelling out SIMMONS BANK FIELD, with two rear-lit Golden Lions logos on each side, rest above the video display, providing a branded look to the entire solution.

In addition to the LED Video Display, UAPB has also added a Nevco 3621 black LED scoreboard with amber digits and custom striping. The scoreboard measures 20’ W by 8’ H with a custom mesh cover that features the UAPB Golden Lions logo.

“We appreciate the chance to be part of the fantastic upgrades that are going into the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff,” said Eric Light, Nevco Director of Sales for Sports Video. “This new video display will provide unbelievable image quality and will generate a new level of excitement from fans, players, sponsors, and the community.”

The new Nevco Video Display and Scoring Solution came as an integral part of a series of upgrades to UAPB’s football facilities. UAPB received a gift from Simmons Bank for upgrades to football and baseball facilities, which is the largest in UAPB history. The generous donation funds the new turf and Nevco Video Display and Scoring Solution for the football facilities, in addition to the completion of the baseball pavilion at the Torii Hunter Baseball and Softball Complex.

UAPB debuted the new Nevco Video Display and Scoring Solution in the Grand Opening of Simmons Bank Field on August 29. The Golden Lions hit the turf for their inaugural game at Simmons Bank Field on September 1.
