GREENVILLE, IL, October 8, 2018 – Pearl River Community College (PRCC) delivered upgrades to Dobie Holden Stadium in Poplarville, Mississippi for the 2018 season with a new Nevco Video Display, Scoring and Audio Solution.
Wildcats fans will take notice of the Nevco full color, 16mm LED Video Display which reaches nearly 18’H and spans more than 31’W. The eye-catching video display is designed with a mesmerizing 216,000 pixels to deliver the highest picture quality. The video board utilizes Display Director™, Nevco’s proprietary software which enables PRCC’s game-day operations to be easily managed through one, universal touchscreen system. Display Director™ gives PRCC the ability to showcase everything from live in-game action, instant replays, animated graphics, and sponsorship messages that can be played in different zones of the video display simultaneously through variable content zoning. PRCC teamed up with Nevco’s HYPE Creative Services to develop and create custom branded graphics and fan prompts including logo animations, headshots, and replay animations.
“I firmly believe that we made the right choice in partnering with Nevco for our new scoreboard and sound system,” said Jeff Long, Director of Athletics at Pearl River Community College. “We’ve been extremely pleased with Nevco throughout the entire process. From start to finish, our sales representative, the on-site techs, and the rest of the Nevco team have all been great to work with. We’re excited for the new opportunities and the enhanced game-day experience that the Nevco equipment will bring to the stadium this season.”
Sitting above the video display is Nevco’s Stadium Pro™ 1000 Sound System which provides concert-like audio quality, audible from every seat in Dobie Holden Stadium. The speaker box is hidden discreetly inside the structure, located above the video display, behind the sound scrim prominently displaying PEARL RIVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
The Wildcats customized their scoreboard with the addition of a Nevco model 7620 scoreboard with amber Electronic Team Names and custom striping. Below the scoreboard PRCC included a non-illuminated sign with area to feature sponsors, and a decorative open-air arch truss sits at the apex of the structure proudly presenting the Wildcats logo.
“We appreciate the opportunity to work with Pearl River Community College on this project and deliver this incredible upgrade to Dobie Holden Stadium,” said Wes Wood, National Sports Video Sales Executive. “The new video display and the Stadium Pro Sound System will definitely rock the stadium, bringing Wildcats fans to their feet and creating an unforgettable game-day experience.”
