NEVCO PARTNERS WITH GRANITE CITY HIGH SCHOOL TO DELIVER VIDEO DISPLAY AND SCORING SOLUTION TO KEVIN GREENE FIELD

GREENVILLE, IL, December 5, 2019 – Granite City High School in Granite City, IL has partnered with Nevco’s sports marketing division to bring a new Video Display and Scoring Solution to Memorial Stadium in the Nelson Hagnauer Sports Complex on the school’s campus.

The Nelson Hagnauer Sports Complex houses Memorial Stadium, Gene Baker Field, and Babe Champion Field, playing host to six of the Warrior’s teams. Kevin Greene Field inside Memorial Stadium is the home of Warrior’s football, and the new home of a Nevco full color, 16mm LED Video Display. The video display stands nearly 10’ high and reaches more than 12’ wide with 43,000 pixels to light up Kevin Greene Field for Friday night lights during football season.

Above the video display sits a non-illuminated arch sign prominently displaying the Warriors logo, GRANITE CITY WARRIORS, field name, and a hall of fame dedication. Below the video display is a Model 3617 Scoreboard featuring Electronic Team Names™ to easily customize team names for each contest played at Kevin Green Field.

Prior to partnering with Nevco, the Warrior’s football scoreboard was outside of its warranty period and not functioning properly. The school had a great deal of interest in a video display, however they had no plans to replace the scoreboard due to their limited budget.

Nevco’s sports marketing division assists schools in generating revenue and obtaining athletic equipment at no cost through their Sponsorship Revenue and Free Equipment programs. The value-driven Sponsorship Advertising Program enables sponsors and advertisers to professionally promote and advertise their business or organization while supporting area high schools.

After determining that GCHS would be a great fit for their program, Nevco began the sponsorship solicitation process by contacting the school’s existing supporters, then leveraged their team to make outbound calls, email blasts, social media content, and personal visits to other community businesses to secure sponsorships. Just a few months after initiating sponsorship sales for the project, Nevco had contracted as much as 75% percent of the project threshold and began production of the school’s new Video Display and Scoring Solution.

“This has been a huge undertaking for our school district and I couldn’t be happier with how Nevco has worked with us,” said John Moad, Granite City High School Athletic Director. “Through this process they have been professional and accessible. Nevco was available to answer questions and ease concerns of board members and community members about the finances and timeline from production to installation. Granite City School District will continue to work with Nevco and would encourage all schools to consider them as well.”

The Warriors also included sponsorship signage which flanks the sides of the video display, providing four opportunities for sponsors to be featured next to the display. Additionally, Granite City High School has more signage located at the bottom of the structure, with space for up to four sponsors. To further their scoring capability, the Warriors also included a set of DGT-6 LED Delay of Game Timers.

“Partnering with Granite City High School to assist in providing the new Nevco Football Scoreboard & LED Video Board has been an outstanding experience!” said Nevco Sports Marketing Sales & Development Director, Spencer Jared. “I can’t say enough positive words about the school administration, support from sponsors in the Granite City community, and all of those involved with the project. What a fantastic upgrade for Granite City’s Kevin Greene Field!”

The Warriors new Nevco Video Display and Scoring Solution was installed in August, just in time for the Warrior’s 2019 home opener. Check out the live install photo below, and be sure to read more about other recent Nevco projects at nevco.com.
