GREENVILLE, IL, June 4, 2019 – The Greater Houston Football Coaches Association (GHFCA) and Nevco Sports, LLC, announced a partnership agreement today. Nevco, the largest private manufacturer and provider of video displays, scoring and audio solutions, was selected as an official sponsor partner of the GHFCA and the 2019 Bayou Bowl hosted at Challenger Stadium, home to a state-of-the-art 19’H x 35’W 20mm Full Color LED Nevco Video Display, at Clear Creek ISD in League City, TX.

“The Bayou Bowl and Greater Houston Football Coaches Association are extremely excited to have Nevco as a partner for the 2019 Bayou Bowl.  We appreciate Nevco’s support of high school football in the Greater Houston Area, and are truly looking forward to playing this game live on ABC Channel 13 KTRK and showcasing Challenger Stadium and the scoreboard Nevco has built in this stadium,” says Aaron Henson, Director of the Bayou Bowl. “This partnership shows Nevco is committed to high school athletic programs here in the Houston area, and across this region!”

The Bayou Bowl is an All-Star Football Game featuring 72 of the best players in the Greater Houston Area, with teams aligned by the East-West division of I-45. The bowl is sponsored by the GHFCA, a 501(c)(3) organization, whose members donate their time to the event, and all proceeds go to scholarships for athletes, male and female, in the Greater Houston Area. Since 2014, more than 80 scholarships have been awarded to athletes with awards ranging from $1,500-$2,500 per recipient. Prior to the Bayou Bowl, only 2 or 3 scholarships were awarded each year worth $500. At the 2019 May Awards Banquet, the GHFCA presented $22,500 of scholarship awards to graduating seniors.

“The Bayou Bowl is an All-Star Football Game in its’ 17th year, that features some of the most talented players, in a talent rich area, the City of Houston,” says Coach Dick Olin, GHFCA Executive Board Member.  “We appreciate the sponsorship and support of Nevco for the 2019 Bayou Bowl to be played at Columbia Challenger Stadium. The Nevco scoreboard installed at Challenger is a tremendous technological asset to one of the finest stadiums in the Greater Houston Area.”

“This is such a great partnership not only for the Greater Houston youth, but for Texas high school football in general,” says Nevco Senior Manager, Clint Burges.  “We’re honored to be involved with this great event and also showcase Nevco’s work in Challenger Stadium.”
