Langston Lions Roar Louder at This Year’s Homecoming Game with New Nevco Equipment
GREENVILLE, IL, October 26, 2015– Lion fans at Langston University in Langston, OK experienced a new and improved game day atmosphere just in time for their Homecoming game thanks to their recently installed Nevco LED Video Display complete with integrated Nevco Stadium Pro 2000 sound equipment. Through a sponsorship from ONEOK, Langston University is one of the first Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the United States to install a video board. With great excitement, the stadium enhancements were unveiled at the President’s Sponsorship Gala on Friday, October 16th, 2015 to Langston alumni, prominent donors, and faculty.
The University partnered with Nevco to purchase an LED Video Display complete with nearly 83,000 pixels and stretching over 28’ wide to showcase live scoring and statistical information, fan-engaging graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages. The Stadium Pro 2000 includes two weather proof cabinets complete with customizable scrim and two enclosed subwoofers.
“I would like to personally thank Nevco for an exceptional product and a remarkable game day experience on our 2015 Homecoming. I wish that all of my major purchases in athletics came with a 5 year warranty and experienced live bodies to personally assist with questions regarding their product. We received training on the touch screen, Display Director software, that runs the video display prior to our game and actually had a Nevco representative there at the Homecoming game to assist us in case any major hiccups occurred during the game. Although my staff did the work, his presence gave my staff the added confidence they needed to have a stress free game day. I feel confident that we have the necessary tools to work the video board in the future and if we have questions, help is only a phone call away. My sales representative was a man of his word from the start of the project to the end. Our complete satisfaction with this product has been Nevco’s top priority from the moment we agreed to make this purchase. Honestly, I was sad to see Nevco leave. Lion fans not only saw the difference the Nevco equipment made during the Homecoming game day atmosphere at W.E. Anderson Stadium, but with the integrated Nevco Stadium Pro 2000 sound equipment, the Lions’ roar was louder than ever before. Fans were engaged during the entire game from watching the various fan prompts that complimented key plays to clearly hearing the announcer’s commentary throughout the game. This engagement may have helped the Lions win over Southwest Assemblies of God, 23-20, in a last minute play of the game! From pre-game music to hype up the fans, to player introductions on the big screen, to complimentary graphics that support the announcer’s commentary, the new video board, scoring and audio solution ensures that Lion players, parents, and fans have the ultimate game-day experience.
