Nevco LED Video Displays add exciting new element to popular venue at Illinois Wesleyan University
New scoring solution raises game-day atmosphere to new heights
EDWARDSVILLE, IL, April 20, 2023 – It is a venue that has seen its fair share of trophies hoisted in the air over the years and now a pair of new video displays are capturing the euphoria and complementing the game-day experience at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) in Bloomington, IL.
The school chose Nevco Sports, LLC to light up Dennis Bridges Court at the Shirk Center with a pair of full-color 6MM LED Video Displays on both ends of the facility measuring 9’H by 15.75’W each. Home to the Titan men and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, track and swimming programs including the men’s 1997 and women’s 2012 NCAA Division III basketball national champions, the Shirk Center has been known to host a number of marquee events since opening in 1994. Notably among those are the NCAA Division III volleyball, indoor track and women’s basketball national championships as well as one of the largest co-ed high school holiday basketball tournaments in the country, the annual State Farm Holiday Classic. The facility also serves as the site of commencement ceremonies for the school.
Seating up to 2,500 for sporting events and as many as 3,450 for graduations, all eyes are being drawn to 352,000 stunning pixels on both ends of the court, elevating IWU as a premiere destination for major events. In addition to showcasing live game action and promoting school and event sponsors and supporters, graphics powered by Nevco Creative Services provide the Titans with engaging visuals to invigorate school spirit and fan engagement through team introductions, interactive graphics and prompts and more.

The new video displays are prominently placed next to Model 2785 Intelligent Caption™ LED Scoreboards with standout white LED digits that allow the school to easily switch the captions to match the sport being played in addition to customizing the team names for all teams who play at the Shirk Center. Both scoreboards are complimented by signage that proudly displays the name of the facility and school logo.
