They are very energy efficient, long lasting, provide high resolution, better clarity and require little maintenance. Nevco's LED segments are also covered by our five-year guarantee.
Compared to incandescent light bulbs, LED’s can cut electricity costs by up to 95%.
LED’s may last up to ten years but may vary with usage. With their longer life, LED’s require minimal maintenance when compared with incandescent displays. The energy efficiency and reduced maintenance required combine to lower the costs of an LED display versus an incandescent display over the life of the product.

The distance (measured in millimeters) from the center of one pixel to the center of the next adjacent pixel. It is also known as “Center-to-Center Spacing”.
LED light intensity is usually measured in millicandella (MCD) or in (NITS). Each millicandella is the brightness of 1/1000 of candlelight. Nits are measured from the direct surface of the display which is brighter than candela measurement. An analogy would be to think of a light bulb and a wall. You can look directly at the light bulb (very bright - NITS) or look at the light reflected from the wall (less bright - MCD). The direct measurement is analogous to nits…the brightness from the wall is the candela.
Line matrix means that there is a separation between the rows of text, making it permanently one character size. Full matrix means there is no separator between the rows so you will be able to create more than one size of characters and also combine rows.
We feature 2 different types of communication that can be used, depending on your needs and the application. These options are the “RF Wireless Modem” and the “Fiber Optic Modem”. All displays are programmed using simple windows-based software from your everyday PC. This software is used to create text and animation designs with an array of options.
All languages can be displayed in graphic mode.
Our wireless RF modems can be used to program message centers without running any cables or wires.
The process is simple. Every display is equipped with standard mounting, holding rings and a detailed set of installation instructions.

Check to make sure the scoreboard has power. Check all connections at the module location inside the scoreboard. Push each one in to ensure a good connection. Check to make sure the control is plugged into power, turned on using the on/off switch located on the right side of the control and the control cable is connected, if using a wired system. Take the control and 25’ control cable to the scoreboard; plug the control cable directly into the module inside the scoreboard. This bypasses the coax running from the scoreboard to the control location.
Check the Overlay and Model Code being used. Verify that the Model Code entered is correct.
The hand-held switch (TCS-1 or TCS-5) has probably failed. You may return the defective switch for repair. New switches may be purchased from Nevco. The MPC-4, MPC-5 and MPCW-6 controls have an Alternate Time Switch built into the control and may be used in emergency situations.
Yes. It is critical you use RG58/U coaxial cable. Different coax has a different impedance level. All of our electronics are matched to the impedance level of RG58/U. Using different coax creates a mismatch and will interfere with the signal going from the control to the scoreboard.
Bilingual services are available at Nevco Canada, 800-461-8550. Trained technicians can assist you with your concerns in either French or English.
The MPCW-6 wireless control system is compatible with all Nevco scoreboard models. The MPCHA hand-held wireless control is compatible with the 2-EM-3 modules only. Check with the Nevco Service Department for details. Controls and receivers may be purchased separately from the Service Department.
The MPCW-6 wireless control system has a maximum range of 1000 feet. The MPCHA hand-held wireless control has a maximum range of 600 feet.
