LAMAR CARDINALS UPGRADE THE MONTAGNE CENTER IN 2016 WITH NEW NEVCO EQUIPMENT

GREENVILLE, IL, April 27, 2016 – The Montagne Center, home of the NCAA Division 1 Lamar University Cardinals Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, will welcome fans into the 2016-2017 season with new equipment from Nevco including a state-of-the-art, center-hung Nevco LED Video Display.

The court centerpiece and main attraction of the new Nevco equipment coming to the Cardinals’ nest is a four-sided 6mm LED Video Display with 10mm LED Video Rings above and below each screen to complement content shown on the main display throughout the game. Each side of the display is over 11’W and the structure in its entirety is complete with approximately 1.3 million mesmerizing pixels for crisp, clear imagery making it a great game-day experience for each and every one of the 10,080 seats in Montagne Center. The upgraded scoring solution is a must have for the division 1 school and will replace a center-hung that has operated at the Montagne Center for well over 30 years.

The four-sided display features variable content zoning, controlled by Nevco’s proprietary Display Director Software, which allows the Cardinals to show one large image or be divided into multiple windows to show an assortment of live in-game video, instant replays of game-changing action, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and advertising or sponsorship messages. Nevco’s Display Director Software simplifies game-day operations and controls LED video displays, LED fascia boards, and LED Scorers Tables all from the easy-to-use, touchscreen interface.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for not only Lamar University, the fans, coaches, and players, but for the live sports entertainment market,” says Clint Burges, Director of Video Operations at Lamar University. “We’ve come an extremely long way over the past years and with the help of Nevco, this will take to a new level of fan engagement and excitement within the community.”

In addition to the eye-catching, center-hung video display, Nevco will also enhance the Montagne Center with 30’ of vibrant, 10mm full color LED Scorers’ Tables, Two Auxiliary Nevco Model 2700 with Electronic Team Names (ETN’s) scoreboards with rear lit stat panels flanking each side, End of Period lights, locker room clocks, and Nevco’s new LED Slim Shot Clocks complete with both game time and countdown timer. Nevco’ slimmer, lighter, shot clocks will be designed in a 3-sided configuration allowing for optimal viewing angles for officials, coaches, and fans.
